Applications to An Bord Pleanála (ABP), under the Planning and Development (Strategic Infrastructure) Act (SIA) 2006 (ABP Ref: 16.GA0004)

RPS, on behalf of Shell E&P Ireland Limited (SEPIL), submitted an application for approval for the Corrib Onshore Gas Pipeline to An Bord Pleanála (ABP) in February 2009.  Following the oral hearing which took place in 2009, ABP requested modifications to the route of the Onshore Pipeline and a revised Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for this amended development.  SEPIL submitted its formal response to this request for further information on 31st May 2010.  To view the application submitted to ABP in 2009 and the further information submitted please click here.

Draft Compulsory Acquisition Order (CAO) - May, 2010 (ABP Ref: 16.DA0005)

Shell E&P Ireland Limited (SEPIL) submitted a new draft Compulsory Acquisition Order (CAO) to An Bord Pleanála (ABP) on 31st May 2010.  This new draft CAO (ABP Ref: 16.DA0005) replaces the former draft CAO (ABP Ref: 16.DA0004).  The new draft CAO relates to the amended pipeline proposal which is detailed in SEPIL's formal response to ABP's request for further information in respect of SEPIL's application under the Planning and Development (Strategic Infrastructure) Act (SIA) 2006.  Under the SIA, the power to grant CAO’s is within the remit of ABP.

Application to the Department of Communications, Energy & Natural Resources - May, 2010

Following the An Bord Pleanála (ABP) oral hearing in 2009, ABP requested modifications to the onshore pipeline.  The Section 40 application which was submitted by Shell E&P Ireland Limited (SEPIL) in 2009 has been withdrawn.  A new Section 40 application was submitted by SEPIL to the Department of Communications, Energy & Natural Resources on 31st May 2010.  An Addendum to the approved Plan of Development for the Corrib Gas Field was also submitted.  To view the applications please click here.

Application to the Foreshore Unit of the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government - Corrib Gas Pipeline

Shell E&P Ireland Limited (SEPIL) submitted an application for the revised Corrib Gas Pipeline route in February 2009 to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food under the Foreshore Acts 1933 – 2003 (as amended).  Following the An Bord Pleanála (ABP) oral hearing in 2009, ABP requested modifications to the onshore pipeline.  This has required the withdrawal by SEPIL of the 2009 Foreshore Licence Application in June 2010.  A new Foreshore Licence Application was submitted to the Foreshore Unit of the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government on Wednesday 16th June, 2010.  To view the application made to the Foreshore Unit including additional information subsequently submitted, please click here.

Application to the Foreshore Unit of the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government - Site Investigation, Sruwaddacon Bay

In January 2010, Shell E&P Ireland Limited (SEPIL) applied for a Foreshore Licence for a geotechnical and geophysical site investigation in Sruwaddacon Bay.  The Foreshore Unit of the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government issued this licence on 11th June, 2010.  To view or download the foreshore licence application and the public information notice please click here.
